She is known for pairing her soaring operatic voice with glamorous evening gowns. So it was a little surprising that Katherine Jenkins was performing at G-A-Y at Heaven in London this weekend in a rather kinky tight PVC dress. The Welsh classical singer looked justifiably proud of her curves in the shiny black outfit. But there was a sour note as well as it emerged she is being sued by former manager Brian Lane after ditching him in July.

The 29-year-old was dropped last month after five years as the British Forces favourite, but judging by this very tight dress, the troops may wish her back again. Katherine teamed it with towering black heels and Swarovski crystals across her left shoulder and all the way down her left arm.

“They were put on one by one with tweezers & glue,” she tweeted. She told followers on Twitter that they took more than three hours to apply – and ages to take off. “Took 4 eva to get them off! What shall I do with all the Swarovski crystals? They are all in a jar at home. Any ideas?” On the same night viewers of ITV1’s Piers Morgan’s Life Stories saw her sob as she recalled fleeing a would-be rapist’s clutches 10 years ago.

Meanwhile, ex-manager Brian, 69, claims she owes him “a substantial six-figure sum” for deals he negotiated. He added: “I hope we can end it in an amicable situation.” Last night Katherine was unavailable for comment on the claims.

Before the concert on Saturday night, the mezzo-soprano said: “It’s something I’ve always wanted to do.”

Her usual uniform of billowing gowns are kept in a huge walk-in wardrobe in the Victorian house she shares with boyfriend Gethin Jones in London’s Muswell Hill. “The wardrobe is for my stage wear,” she told a Sunday newspaper. “Some of the dresses are huge, so they take up room. Some day I plan to auction them all off for charity.”
