Amy Winehouse is reportedly checking herself into a London health clinic in preparation to have a baby

Believe it or not, but Amy Winehouse is reportedly getting ready to have a baby.

While we may be used to seeing Amy Winehouse stumbling out of a variety of London bars and clubs in the early hours of the morning the Back to Black singer has undergone something of a metamorphosis in recent months.

She’s kept her trademark towering beehive and the inch-thick black eyeliner but the troubled star is looking decidedly healthy – and new man Reg Traviss is definitely one of the driving forces behind the change.

According to the Sun newspaper, Winehouse has checked into a health clinic in London to make sure that she’s healthy enough to start trying to conceive.

“Amy has checked herself in,” a source told the newspaper. “She wants to get herself ‘baby ready’ so she and Reg Traviss can start a family in the not too distant future.”

The revelation is suspiciously hot on the heels of the announcement that Amy’s ex – convicted criminal Blake Fielder-Civil – is to become a first-time father.

The 28-year old, who was married to the singer for two years before they divorced in 2009, is said to be expecting a baby with his girlfriend Sarah Aspin at the end of the month.

But his mother is convinced her son is not prepared for fatherhood because he is living on welfare payments and allegedly struggling with a drug addiction.

Fielder-Civil was behind bars last month after he was arrested on suspicion of burglary and possessing a firearm.
